       if you're Hezbollah or Syria, part of your thinking has to be that this is a PR boon for Israel & will strengthen their Western support, meaning that they're likely going to be allowed (or even aided) to pursue more aggressive security goals or territorial ambitions than before: e.g. back in 2015 when Netanyahu had asked Obama to annex the remainder of Golan, the answer would've been a resounding yes if the request had been made in the wake of something like thisin my opinion, whether they get involved or not, Israel & its Western allies will pursue foreign policy that leads to the undoing (or at least, severe undermining) of the Hezbollah & Syria, whether in the short or long term.That being said, an outright attack on Israel now runs the greater risk of just outright annihilation in the short run.
