@meowski@fluf.club besides my instance-specific problems when you load someone's profile their posts don't load anymore, also replies don't show up in the home timeline unless you manually allow it for each userI think there were one or two more but those two specifically broke my workflow and I'm mad/sad about it

I see no reasons to roll back and wait, yes it's painful, but you have to do it one day and it will be painful that day too, maybe even more applying more then one patches.

@meowski @miscbrains @Cocoa @emma @verita84_uwu @romin @efertone i would never, ever tell someone to run a pleroma single user instance on 1 thread and 2 gb ram. it works for you now but when your database gets bunged up because you dont take care of it because you cant on a 1t/2gb instance because it runs out of ram, or disk and you come crying about why your instance doesn't return notifications or why federation stops (you can ask @shitpisscum all about this) you're going to regret it man speaking from experience as the dude who runs the largest pleroma instance in existence. dont run a single user anything on 1 thread 2gb ram and do NOT run pleroma on spinning rust

@matty @meowski @miscbrains @Cocoa @shitpisscum @emma @verita84_uwu @romin @efertone instances coming and going aka niggers like this faggot thinking they're hot shit popping up an instance and realizing shit doesnt Just WerkTM big instances like mastodon.social/misskey.io/poa.st whatever in their various categories sending mass deletes (we dont do this). deletions have major impact on database, enough that servers that aren't even really majorly impacted by it like FSE have disabled them. reindexing costs. there's a lot of shit to factor in that is happening with pleroma database. a single user instance can scoff "i just remove poast from the federated timeline so ill never have this issue" but this nigger is going to be removing instances from his fedi timeline all day long. an instance like milker.cafe -- has no users only bots -- the database that contains no real posts only metadata and info is 188GB, over 142GB of that is external instances. pleroma does not prune this data by default. you're expected to do that. and if you do it, you're going to break your database simple asa major part of it is just exhaustion of pleroma workers, too. you eventually come to a point where pleroma is sending such complex queries (hey NCD, show me every post matty has made with the word nigger since 9am) to the database while it's already dealing with other queries some stuff gets left behind

I also don't think the administrator should be required to perform routine maintenance that the software itself is fully capable of performing automatically were it implemented. I consider this a defect in the software, one that as you rightly pointed out, I am aware of and I have gone to lengths to write my own software to sidestep this issue.When I have problems with my software, I go and fix them. That is my responsibility and nobody else's. I have no ability to fix these issues with Pleroma, so I lay the responsibility of fixing those issues with those who can, where it rightly belongs.
