@dameoutlaw@mstdn.social It’s easy for you to say due to the fact that you said itNice non-argument. Do you have any real reasons why its supposedly easy to say?It also does nothing to solve the situation as many instances are large alreadyIt's only a handful that are seriously large, but I understand why you think this is the norm. The large instances tend to block the smaller instances by default, most often without any reasons provided, and no means for the smaller instances to remove themselves from such block lists. This is a symptom of the masses joining the #Fediverse and not caring a single bit about the community they joined, and trying to force their own agenda into it.Do you suggest they dissolve? It would be in the best interest of the Fediverse they do, yes. If you just wish to be in a large community with next to no federation, feel free to return to #Twitter. I would like the Fediverse to be better than that, though.

@tyil I've already stated why, read again, your lack of regard. It is not a handful of them, especially by your metrics of 200+. It is best for you to be in a group chat, Matrix space and or discord server if you prefer small and intimate :)

@dameoutlaw@mstdn.social I've already stated whyNo, you didn't, you just said it's easy because I was able to say it at all. That's a non-argument, there's nothing inherently making this a difficult thing to say.You allude that people are being "harmed" by me saying it, but again, not in what way. Very likely this is because nobody was harmed in the production of that particular post. Stating an opinion doesn't harm anyone, and the idea that it is inherently harming people is part of the reason why I'd like people with such an ideology to stay on Twitter instead.Don't join a public space with people you dislike only to then complain about how you're upset all the time that there are people who dare to disagree with your ideology. It is best for you to be in a group chat, Matrix spaceI am in a dozen or so #Matrix rooms, a hundred or so #IRC channels, and am very happy there yes. But none of that is related to my statement of individual instances remaining below 200 users for federation to work properly.Actually, matrix.org might be a good example of why you don't want just a handful of mega instances. Matrix.org is the slowest instance out there, yet also the only one that continually grows. If the Matrix userbase was spread out much more, performance across the board would be much better and server issues at matrix.org would affect way less people. It seems ludicrous for me to have so many examples of why centralization is bad, and then people still argue on favour of it on networks designed to not be centralized. or discord serverI don't use Discord, and the fact that you even consider recommending this to me shows your complete lack of understanding of why long-time Fedi users are here.
