Anyone using the official #mastodon app? If so, can you direct me to how I can either clear notifications or I guess mark them as read?Right now it just grows and grows and everything I've tried does nothing. My fallback plan is to clear them occasionally from the web interface but that seems... bonkers.

@bgardner The official Mastodon application is not very good. Most people recommend switching to a better phone client. Mostly #tusky for Android or ice cubes for iOS.Other applications exist, feel free to install a couple and choose the one you prefer.

@ParadeGrotesque Thank you, I'll pass on #tusky at this time (Ref https://nikclayton.writeas.com/stepping-back-from-the-tusky-project), but I take your point that the official app doesn't seem to be winning awards.

@bgardner Fedilab and Megalodon for Android are also good choices, from what I hear. The issues Nick Clayton had with Tusky were vastly overblown, and due to the founders of Tusky leaving the project a bit abruptly due to burnout and a rather chaotic transition from a couple of maintainers to a team.Tusky itself is very good, and should be maintained in the future.Avoid AndStatus, as I have always found it very very buggy and slow.Anyway, more choices here:https://www.androidpolice.com/best-mastodon-apps/

@ParadeGrotesque I greatly appreciate the recommendations but in the end I gave up and went with the main site as a PWA.Turns out, none of the apps implement removing notifications. Which is a shame, because they all work really well otherwise - I especially liked Megalodon.
