Oh my, macOS Sonoma is utterly unstable and full of bugs. I run it on a MBP M1 and it crashes multiple times a day. On restart, it does not recognize my external display, have to re-plug it to work.Same goes for Safari 17. When I close pinned tabs, the tab in the title bar stays and cannot be removed until Safari is restarted.iCloud Drive sync is super unstable and it takes minutes to sync small files. I'm interested about your experience, if you have already upgraded.#macOS #macossonoma

@louis running it on a 16” MBP and Mac Studio, both M1 Max models. Everything has been fine in my experience on the public release so far besides Messages.app being very buggy.

@louis No issues on my side (iMac, Intel architecture). I haven't checked all things yet but looks like the system is stable for now 🤞

@louis Once bitten - twice shy. So I’m holding the upgrade until one or two bugfix releases usually.

@louis No crashes here on my M1 MBP, but lots of little glitches. No problems with external displays or Safari, touch wood.

@louis I’ve not had any issues on my intel and m2 MBPs, sorry to hear that’s not true for you.

Update: I've found the source of the crashes in macOS Sonoma. It was coming from a system extension installed by the app "Audio Hijack". After I have removed that, the system seems stable again.

@louis I don't have crashes, but my Zoom LiveTrak L-8 keeps disappearing. Not sure if related but definitely annoying... How did you find your problem and how could you pinpoint it to that app?

@frankdelporte After a while I noticed that the crashes happened always when some other app played audio (i.e. VLC). Since I've installed the Audio Hijack just two days before the update, I connected the dots.
