The test of the national emergency alert system could be postponed by bad weather.https://www.fema.gov/press-release/20230803/fema-and-fcc-plan-nationwide-emergency-alert-test-oct-4-2023Next Wednesday at 13:20 CT (14:20 ET) is when everyone's phone is going to go off, even if you are in silent mode, and even if you have disabled emergency alerts (b/c the law requires this type can not be disabled).Unsure what will happen in airplane mode. It'd be best to just turn your phone off if you want to avoid the alert (though it may alarm when you turn it on).

@adam We'll see about that cannot be disabled dreck. I went on a bit of a ghidra trip through the RIL after some twit used those for campaign messages.

@adam no, but WEA are sent over cellular infrastructure (via System Information Broadcast messages) and airplane mode turns off the cellular radio
