Just realized I made this poll only last a day; meant to extend it to a week. Oh well.

@mitchmarq42xyz I tried using it. For note taking I feel like there is too much overlap with something like org-roam, denote and embark. For programming, the global buttons are cool and seem really useful for running scripts, tests, etc. Overall the interface could be improved, it seems very outdated, and the buttons that accept keyboad input do not work well when using a different input-method.

Two hours left and the results are basically in. If there's an active community around this package, I haven't found it.Someone I recommended it to the other day mentioned embark-like functionality, so I tried going thru the tutorial to find such a thing. Didn't.

@mitchmarq42xyz IMHO this package has a) a name that transports a bad connotation (I know, this applies to git, too. But Hyperbole's author isn't Linus Torvalds) and b) they put too many different things into one package. So it won't appeal to the "I want my Emacs lean" people. But then again, I never made an Emacs package, so what do I know ...

@holgerschurig where's your bad connotation? Hyperbole just means exaggeration. Which given their documentation is pretty accurate

@mitchmarq42xyz Maybe I'm too german for this. If someone (outside of satire or comedy) uses artificial exaggeration a.k.a. Hyperbole, then this is something bad. Such a person isn't trustworthy. After all, (s)he intentionally decided to talk non-factual.
