       The only way a new camera or lens will make you a better photographer is if it gets you out the door more often, shooting more.

       @shacker on that note, about 15 years ago I really wanted to be a good photographer.   I enrolled in night school and learned all about photography.I learned what makes a good photograph, how to use a camera, about lenses, how to develop film etc.I also learned - I'm simply not a good photographer.  I couldn't take a good picture. What was worse is I *new* my pictures weren't good and technically why they weren't good because of my studies.Some people just can't do it.  I am one of them.

       @andymccall I hear you. There are definitely things in this world that we are “wired” to do and other things they are not. I even know a lifelong professional photographer who really hasn't got much of an "eye" but is a perfectionist on the details. Nutty.
