@jaredwhite The Nebula model is interesting, and I wish they would at least have official fedi accounts for their creators sharing the links for community building, but I think only works because the ownership is by creators with existing built audiences. For new creators, you still need to find a home and build there before you can join something like that. 4/

@jaredwhite Some stuff on PeerTube has seemed to work. I've really liked tilvids.com and urbanists.video PeerTube instances but they require a lot of (free/near free) support from their admins which will make sustainability always a risk. Luckily, they are mostly in the "free information" nonprofit space, so they can likely partner with similar existing orgs + get donations, which isn't true for all content niches.5/

@Neblib @jaredwhite Hosting is the least concern for me on TILvids most of the time. My biggest focus is trying to find quality edutainment content creators and convincing them to give us a chance. They want more viewers and ad revenue. As revenue I have plans to find instance-level sponsors and do a revenue split, but we can't get sponsors without more viewers. So really, we just need more and more regular viewers at the site, which will drive everything else.tilvids.com to help us grow!
