       @moffintosh I should honestly do what this guy's doing, but one thing I already do is to look at the drivers as I cross the street. It makes them realize that what they're looking at isn't a blank, cold thing like a traffic cone or another car (maybe that's why drivers seem so violently opportunistic - they're essentially directly interacting with objects most of the journey). They're seeing another living, vibing, human being.

       @moffintosh I should do what this folk is doing, though I already stare at the drivers when I cross the street. Drivers are usually aggressive, I believe, due to really only interacting directly with cold, blank objects like cars (especially since most aren't convertibles, so they cannot see the driver) and traffic cones). So, having them see me, and thus a living person, is something I want to show (and thus, prevent then from being opportunistic with speed and killing me).
