@moffintosh @Moon Personally, AI wouldn't have received so much flack if its proponents would properly alleviate others' fears of it fucking over our lives instead of just blindly embracing it. AI can be used for good if we understand that it ultimately cannot replace human labor. For example, I heard some artists are, in fact, incorporating AI into their works due to its sheer efficiency. Yet, many proponents of AI just seem like everything people hate about techbros in general. They don't really consider how to implement AI as harmlessly as possible (Taking it out of corporate control, implementing proper and not corporate-influenced regulations), and instead just disregards AI's victims (and soon-to-be villains).Likewise, I honestly feel that most of the hatred towards online artists is due to most of them being on Twitter. It's not that artists themselves are annoying. Heck, I love the art communities over on Fedi, and I often use FA and e6 (Pssst, I'm an artist and furry myself). It's just that Twitter itself, through its evil algorithm and short character limit, has made anyone who used it shitty people. P.S.: Maybe I should have just dismissed the post entirely instead. The OP was stupid enough to buy a stupid checkmark on the Birdsite.

@moffintosh I remember being forced to read one of her books, "Anthem," during my freshman year of high school. It was mid (the story is boring, but not to the point where reading it was painful). It was only later on that I learned that she was a lolbert.

@moffintosh Huh, this reminds me of this one video by Anubis2814. He explains how the world under Neoliberalism, which has atomized individuals and promoted consumerism, means that people struggle to strive for anarchism, which requires building a robust and tight-knit community without the state. I'll point out that anarchism never seemed logical to me. There are just too many bad actors, from criminals and businessmen to aggressive and expansionist states, that enforcing an anarchist society in the wide scale seems almost impossible to me. At most, I'll be open to a libertarian socialist state if people get it working. For now, though, I'll be advocating for socialist republics (not to be confused with western republics, which are open to capitalist abuse), since they've been proven to work well. Still, I think that video is relevant when talking about CHOP (alternative name for CHAZ). Besides being a lesson on avoiding ironically bigoted shitliberalism (Most CHOP citizens were white, and numerous victims during the occupation were nonwhite), it also helps to understand how much the dominant ideology has clouded our view of better systems.

@thor Huh, whenever I scroll the media tab of artists I follow, most of the old art seems not to be displaying. I'm not sure if it's a glitch or if it's a thing with the cache (though I'm unfamiliar with caching on Masto since it's an admin thing). The problem doesn't happen on cdrom.tokyo or kitty.social, which are other instances I'm in.

@moffintosh @StillIRise1963 Here's a pretty okay video (even if I'm not fond of Thought Slime for covering too much about the culture war) that talks about Obama's negatives. In short, he did little to stop the violence the US inflicted on the Middle East and the US-Mexican border, plus he did not do enough to subjugate the porkies who caused the 2008 recession.Let me know if there are better videos that criticize Obama, though.
