I recently started making my own garlic sambal oelek chili paste out of habaneros, and it came out great. I mix it with peanut butter and put it in my omelet in the morning (or is anything, really).

I also make games. I've been building a 2d Legend of Zelda clone tied to the same story as the series I'm currently writing. I'm thinking of adding Colony Builder aspects to it as well. I've been making games for a while, it's probably one of my earliest endeavors. A distant pipe dream would be to make games and release novel series which coincide with each other. Maybe in the near future, life is short.

I like playing the accordion, but I’m a total beginner at it. Luckily, I have a bunch of beginner sheet music left over from piano lessons while I was a kid. However the left hand on the piano and the bass side of the accordion are very different, and have the notes arranged very differently, so if I want the left hand to sound good on accordion I have to fiddle with it and usually rewrite it. It’s challenging to find something that works, because the bass side can easily overwhelm the right hand, and with the way the notes are arranged there’d be a lot of stretching and jumping from the different buttons, but it’s also a fun puzzle and really rewarding once I get it.

I both envy and don't envy you your house repairs. I hope to make a move soon and to actually buy a house, which means learning repairs. It is certainly a masculine virtue as much as it is a learning process. Good to hear it feels meaningful in the end.

Full time I do open source software, and have a few contributions that are getting pretty wide use. Checked in on the one below and glad to see more than 1600 websites are using it now:https://www.drupal.org/project/views_add_buttonBeyond this, I'm wrapping up the most ambitious e-commerce project of my career, doing something that would not have been possible with available open source tech 5+ years ago. The shift from corporate to indie is taking place in multiple fields.

I *was* making a garden of blueberries and raspberries, but then the bunnies attacked and ate all of them.

I've had to do some house upgrades. Very expensive. The siding and windows were rotting out, totaling at $50k to get all of them replaced. I still have to do my crawlspace, too. Which will probably be another $15k if I go all in. Which means I need to do a cash out refinance on my house soon to get it all paid off in timely manner.

I've been kind of working on a 2D game in which players learn Cherokee through various minigames and NPC interactions. Then I have a 3D game where players learn braille, ahem, rune magic where the magic runes just happen to resemble braille characters, and using these runes in *certain combinations* does magic to defeat evil creatures.I've been contemplating doing an offline remake of Neoquest and Neoquest II (NQ1 would be stupid easy), but it might be more than I could handle at the moment.

It's my favorite meal of the day. Avocado slices on top and stuff it full of dry-fired or fire-roasted jalapenos.

I'd been playing a mobile game called Nation of Darkness, which is an interesting game. Aside from that, I might decide to learn either Escrima(a Fillipino martial arts), volunteer work repairing various items, or learn parkour.
