I had to scrap my current project because it was too flawed, but I did write a scene where a guy had to fight off six people in a dining room on an ocean liner. They were trying to kill him because of a 2 billion fedos bounty on his head. Very brutal and bloody scene with very little cover and a whole lot of improvisation. (Fedos is the currency of the Federation of Sol Systems; it has some inflation problems)

This is essentially the same answer as before. In the Wand Smoke series, anywhere north of village South is choked with poison mist. It takes the whole first book before the characters have access to reliably effective masks that let them breathe in the stuff, but it is still incredibly dangerous.Anything that would damage a mask or otherwise expose the skin too long in the miasma would spell death. Worse, because civilization fled hundreds of years ago, the land is haunted by fay forced to take shelter in the ground and the water. The faeries blame humanity for the miasma, so they attack people on sight.Then there are your own incompetent companions, but I don't want to spoil too much of the first book.

Currently, it's a burning movie theater. The danger is that it's on fire and covered in old film due to a terrorist attack from another dimension, the movie dimension. Old film was made of gun cotton and it doesn't go out with water. So, even a sprinkler system won't stop it.

I have a half finished short story about a blind man going through a cave. What makes it dangerous is less the physical danger and more the state of his mind. Not wanting to spoil details too much I'll be vague: sometimes when the psyche breaks self harm becomes likely.

That would be Ancrath, the capital of Brelix, the Borelian home world. Aside from the Borelians being untouchable because of a toxin system embedded in their skin, Brelix itself is unstable and the atmosphere is full of gases that will eventually kill any non-endemic thing. It's not a happy place on a good day. Sending an army to invade Ancrath is a good way to get guns involved, which makes it even more dangerous.

In "Skin in the Game" a character opens fire on an assailant. It's established that the character is a really bad shot, and it's not known if the target will return fire, so the people on the scene cower behind cars.

Caught me at an odd moment. That Would be the city’s “slightly impoverished working class neighborhood” as told by a scrupulously rental property agent, when in reality it’s a literal ghetto where the police don’t even arrive/patrol when called unless there’s something in it for them. The MC has no other place to live due to his financial problems.

Last finished work:Everywhere.The desert is full of giant scorpions and rattlesnakes. And drug-smugglers.The cities may have smugglers. Also some people get chased by killer cyborgs.By the coast one may encounter fire breathing helicopter fish.The list goes on.

An arc within Project Hunter has Ryan Wallace's team (with a few others) having to rescue the townspeople within the Sky City, a seemingly peaceful land full of people that will gladly get rid of invaders through any means necessary. Not only that, the protectors of the Sky City are armed with gadgets and weapons that can give Ryan's group lots of trouble.
