Are only schools built with crumbling RAAC, or are they only talking about the schools? Either way, why?

@mansr Hospitals and court buildings already seem to be being looked at; there's one court already closed some others being looked at. I'm curious if there are any big private office landlords who are about to get hit by it.Also the problem isn't the crumbling - the problem is the few that look fine but collapsed anyway; that's the sudden change, prior to last month they thought they could inspect for crumbling/cracks and ignore the rest.

@mansr No and no.I grew up in a council house that was concrete RAAC panels bolted to a structural steel frame ("homes for heros" post war thrown up prefab constructions), so theoretically not at risk because the panels weren't structural. Irony was the frame itself was held together by untreated steel bolts, which decades later had corroded creating their own structural flaws. By then under UK right to buy, most of these houses were in private hands and the issue was never sorted across the board. Some private owners had holes cut in their walls and the corroded bolts replaced at the insistence of their mortgage providers but the rest, good luck with that. Also see : https://inews.co.uk/news/raac-was-used-houses-buildings-affected-aerated-concrete-schools-hospitals-homes-2593445

@mansr Perhaps the UK government can license the solution from the BE government?1. Add scaffolding,2. Fix it for real by the end of the century, perhaps.https://www.brusselstimes.com/375923/brussels-justice-palace-to-break-free-from-steel-cage-in-2024

@mansr It looks like they're catching up with other buildings today; theatres, and universities.
