@mansr Imagine a cable with two British power plugs, one of them plugged in. Now imagine stepping on the other one.

@mansr Which reminds me of the time Microsoft used "Start Me Up" to announce Windows 95, and a colleague listed song titles that would have been more appropriate...I don't remember any of his suggestions but "SPARCs Will Fly".

@mansr Perhaps the UK government can license the solution from the BE government?1. Add scaffolding,2. Fix it for real by the end of the century, perhaps.https://www.brusselstimes.com/375923/brussels-justice-palace-to-break-free-from-steel-cage-in-2024

@mansr One of my 2.5" portable backup disks died, too. While LUKS-encrypted hard drives don't really need physical destruction before disposal, I did use this as an opportunity to offer my mother in law a few shiny tealight coasters.

@kernellogger @corbet @monsieuricon I only CC lkml when:1. It's the mailing list for the subsystem (e.g. regulator),2. The subsystem mailing list is rather obscure, or not archived on lore.3. The patch fixes a serious issue or regression.

@vegard I gave it a try, but it made today's conflicts when merging drm-misc into Linus' tree even more incomprehensible...See also Stephen's resolutions for linux-next (which are a big help, as usual, thanks!)https://lore.kernel.org/all/20231114112503.6e098829@canb.auug.org.au/

@foone @Unixbigot Unless the "different computer" (or VM) is running AI snoopware, too.[more reasoning steps deleted]Then, why not just run Linux on the bare metal, instead of in a VM?

@divVerent @CyReVolt @krzk Just hit CTRL-X? ;-)Seriously, these are very handy, and I use them all the time. Especially after block-selecting a list of (initially identical) numbers using CTRL-V. Then "g" followed by "CTRL-A" and you have a nice contiguous list of numbers.
