The artists at Burning Man are incredible. "Remote Desert Traffic Jam" is something I never would have expected. Amazing execution.

@danielpunkass I mean, even a decent 2WD or AWD should handle a little off-roading in the sand and rocky expanse.

@chillanarchist01 @danielpunkass ahh, but it is not a sandy dessert, it is a dry lake bed - in a year when the rainy season started early. I have visited Oregon's Alvord dessert, which is similar and about 120 miles north. When the rainy season hits, which only brings an inch or two of rain, it is a do not go, do not attempt to drive on surface. What is fine dust on a cracked layer is ultra fine clay with water added. And it is poisonous (natural arsenic) and alkaline (mild chemical burns).
