       A friend of mine is just about to die of metastatic lung cancer, probably before the end of September.

       They have a dignified exit planned, for which I'm glad, better then slowly and painfully drowning in one's own corrupted lung tissue.

       I surface know that as I get older, more and more people in my rolodex will never answer a message again.  But there is knowing it, and there is KNOWING it.  I don't like knowing it, and I don't like knowing that as the years tick by, not only will then number increase, the rate will increase as well.
