@cthart I don't see wget as a competitor. wget is a downloader, curl is an internet transfer engine. Sure, there is a small overlap in functionality but they are more "companion tools" than competitors in my mind.

@bagder I'd be fascinated to hear more thoughts on the comparison. In my (limited!) experience, wget's functionality is a strict subset of curl's. What's something wget can do well that curl cannot?

@js I know "my people" are also interested in wget news. Plus, I have contributed code to wget, several wget maintainers have helped out with curl stuff. We're all friends.
