LR Update, There is a bunch of rumors spreading across the fediverse about LinuxRocks being Transphobic NAZI supporters. This is far from the truth. The truth is the user created a report as from a user on another instance and stated transphobic. This started a DDOS of reports against us and almost all just lude comments against the mods. Then because we don't all out block instances. We are called NAZI. We do not support nazi and will block if the instance if truly a nazi instance.

@omnipotensseriously, they don't point out any evidence of this whatsoever? and people are actually falling for it?we don't block instances willy nilly not only because that's bad practice for the health of the network (plus, the user can always block/mute users/instances themselves according to their beliefs instead of having them dictated, in which case blame the user not the instance), but because with the very nature of federation on this network we may not even need to (we only fetch data from other, potentially bad instances because it was requested (if we follow someone, if someone we follow interacted with a post, etc), but if we don't need to fetch from said bad instance then we won't even need to block it; we don't even communicate to it.)I'm probably trying to make sense of something that doesn't make any; all I can think about all this is "what the actual fuck."

@atlas_core @omnipotens I would like to add. Dear LinuxRocks Community Members, we're aware of recent discussions accusing our platform of issues surrounding moderation, hate speech, and discrimination. We understand these topics are highly sensitive and warrant an immediate and transparent clarification. That's exactly what we aim to provide in this series of posts.

@atlas_core @omnipotens To be explicitly clear, LinuxRocks does not support or condone hate speech, discrimination, or harassment in any form. Although we generally do not take an active role in policing content, we do provide users with tools to manage their own experiences on our platform.

@atlas_core @omnipotens Case-by-Case Review: Our hands-off approach doesn't mean we're oblivious to extreme situations that could adversely affect the community. There may be exceptional cases where we feel the need to intervene, although these would be rare and treated as such.

@atlas_core @omnipotens Apologies for the lengthy thread, but we feel it's crucial to be as transparent as possible on these issues. That said, there's one more point to address: NSFW content. We maintain a hard line against NSFW (Not Safe For Work) content on LinuxRocks. Many of our users, including those who log on from work, expect a professional environment free from such material.

@atlas_core @omnipotens Additionally, we also consider the server resources that would be utilized for storing this type of content. As our primary focus is on Linux and related technologies, we aggressively block NSFW content to maintain the integrity of our federated timeline. In summary, while we aim for open discussions and diverse viewpoints, we also strive to create an environment that respects professional standards and resource limitations. Thanks for understanding and cooperation.
