       Does Pleroma get an apology? Will the #fediblock lists be retired?I'm guessing not. The damage was done because some people are extremists and bullies and thrive on a sense of power

       @feld I wasn't around for the pleroma thing, but the 4.2.0 search will be opt in, meaning that a user must activate their profile to be searchable. Was that the case with pleroma?

       No because that's a stupid idea. Public posts are public, so anyone can index them with any tool. Making it opt-in is an artificial limitation which gives people a false sense of security.We provide a full text search across all publicly viewable posts that are known by your instance.
