Man, the leftist impulse to tell people what media they should and shouldn't consume is deeply annoying. It's such a surveillance vibe. I'm not even coming at this from a "let people enjoy things" POV, I'm talking about this from an intellectual coherence POV. I am much more of a "hey if you're reading/watching this, consider also putting this in your queue." Some of y'all have never studied how persuasive rhetoric works among normal people and it shows.

like, i routinely read stuff that is 180 degrees from my political and religious values because I don't think you can structure a coherent intellectual argument for/against anything unless you actually engage with shit. Hate reading stuff you disagree with so you know exactly how to argue your own stance is like, a key component to developing a really strong set of political commitments. This is why I am such a fan girl for the Know Your Enemy podcast.

tl;dr, this is why I sometimes read the WSJ and some of the leftists I respect the most in this world routinely make it their business to read about capital-B Business straight from the capitalist source
