       I guess I never really thought about it but if you're only keeping mozilla around so that it looks like you're not a monopoly but you don't care if the browser is any good, why not funnel a bunch of money to them for stuff you don't want on your own books

       @Moon man, you should look into that Linux Foundation piece by Lunduke. It’s also fun. Look it up on his substack.TL;DR only 3% of LF money and manpower goes to Linux. The rest is spent on some bizarre blockchain projects, vaccine passports, fighting climate change (????), and other nonsense.

       @Moon Maybe because there are other solutions like crowfunding external people to work on it instead but that demands that users give money while software is gratis and very few want to give money.
