@StillIRise1963 SadplyTrump did not violate any court order and he attended to all the judges' calls. I hate it, but there is no suspicion he is trying to evade justice. So he seems to have the right to wait out of jail. It is sad. I would love to see him in jail...

@enoch @StillIRise1963 @the_Effekt I read in the Washington Post that Secret Service agents may be the sticking point for actual prison time, but strict house arrest. I say Congress passing a law that ex Presidents charged with felony crimes are no longer entitled to the benefits of the office would work once the Democrats win the 2024 elections for the WH and Congress. That would erase the order for the necessity for house arrest.

They'd be ripe targets for foreign intel if we left them out in the wind alone.Yes Trump already did/does but this isn't about Trump. It's about national security. Apply it to any other former POTUS past or future. Do you want them more vulnerable to foreign adversaries? Also the handy fact of having sworn constitutional servants around him is better for keeping him somewhat in check. Their testimony will likely prove significant.As for prison, I suspect the best scenario we're going to get is home confinement in Trump Tower.Entirely possible to put him in a solitary setup in a supermax type of thing that would preclude his needing any special Sec Service folks. But I don't see that being likely unless something absolutely nuclear comes out.

Lord p, it's "breaking news" at this hour that it looks like Trump violated a court order to not threaten anybody. He just threatened everybody by posting "IF YOU'RE COMING AFTER ME, i'M GOING AFTER YOU". All jurisdictions having matters before their courts are now ramping up security.
