If Trump lands the nomination, the ballot will undeniably be Democracy v. Autocracy.That’s a war this democracy can’t afford to lose. We’ve seen it all before.#WeveSeenItAllBefore #DejaVu #DonaldTrump #Trump #PreserveDemocracy #Hitler #autocracy #authoritarianism #fascism

@wauz Smarter, but with negative charm. Even my funda-publican coworkers who adore Carlson aren't mentioning DeSantis.I heard them say "he's abrasive--I wish we had an alternative" about Trump this week, and DeSantis seemingly didn't even cross their minds.

@segv11Yet. After all, it's about the ideas of the oligarchs. Trump didn't make it, bc he didn't supply the MIC with that war with Russia. For same reason he won't even run for president. If GOP finds someone, who will comply to aggressive foreign policy, he (or maybe she), they might win the race.Democracy and social justice and 'such stuff' is just make-up and will never happen with either of both parties.Ok, this is an European's opinion.

@wauz I've got to say that your European opinion is diverges wildly from what it's like to live under a U.S. government led by the opposing parties. Impotent pessimism is poison, as so many of us undesirables have found. We suffered for four miserable years and are still dealing with the consequences today. Not equivalent. As for foreign policy, Germany has learned that selling out to Russia for the sake of profit is an expensive mistake. Peace in our time sometimes means war tomorrow.

@segv11Political situation in Germany is also desparate. Our oligarchy has decided to stop any climate saving measures. On war in Ukraine, there is just one name to tell: Victoria Nuland.Don't try to teach us about our front yard! We know, this war is made by US gov, nothing else!

@wauz I'll concede German politics to you (assuming you live there) if you'll concede US politics to us. But Russia's invasion is blood on their hands alone. Putin will not be persuaded by friends, let alone manipulated by enemies. And to be clear, none of us are at war with Russia. Tens of NATO soldiers acting on their own have died on Ukrainian soil. Not tens of thousands.

@segv11Ever heard of Zbigniew Brzeziński? He is the one who started the Afghanistan troubles, that lead to all the wars there. If you don't know the US history, don't try to teach others.By the way: the US politics on Ukraine is according to ZB's strategy to get Siberia for US-based corporations to exploit. We're not stupid in Europe. (Ok, some are, even in govs, like Schröder who vowed to support war on Afghanistan after 9/11)All my lifetime, US intelligence and US forces did interfere in other countries, neglecting "International Law". They made that International Law nothing but a mean joke.Papa Bush used first Iraq war as a lever against EU economy, the bombshells had to take a people for the very single reason of having the "wrong" government.Baby Bush tried to do same, but was stupid enough, to really invade Iraq. Btw, also according to the Zbigniew Brzeziński doctrine. Not to forget Henry Kissinger. Just to mention.

@wauz It seems we're losing sight of who the aggressors are in Ukraine. Murdering civilians, killing and kidnapping children... everyday atrocities for a despicable dictator.Afghanistan, Iraq & others are a shame and humiliation on the US. But anyone who can only see modern world events through those lenses is as myopic as the warmongers. How much of Europe do you want to lose to the reinvented USSR?I'm done comparing US wars of aggression with us attempting to protect the Ukrainian people.

@segv11Madelein Albright? Heard the name? There was 'something'. It had to do with Iraq. There is always a story about what happened before a war. You have to notice that.US history is also filled with genocide, enslaving people, war crimes. To ignore the US political interference in Ukraine is also double scaling as to ignore US breachings of International Law.

@wauz Again you flee to the past while ignoring the present. Have you noted any disagreement on US involvement in actual wars? We're experts in despicable, as is most of Europe. But here I'm calling it as I see it. There's blood on everyone's hands, but there's fresh blood spilled in Ukraine thanks to Putin. Ukraine deserves our help.

@segv11Oligarchs are pretty much the same all over the world. They agree on suppressing working class and when they be in loggerheads, they make it a problem to people.Governments are just committees to do the dirty work on their behalf. Different to Germany, in the US often oligarchs are "serving" as politicians. Not yet in Germany. Here are politicians just paladines of the real rich. It's pretty easy to see, that govs are allies for each other and for corporations and those who control them.I don't blame American citizens for the atrocities of their govs.I take the stand of the working class. But I work as hard as I can to make people see, that there is not much of good governance on behalf of the people. All the money, all the weapons, that are sent to Ukraine don't help people there. They help a gov, that is pretty much of a set of puppets. All that money could be used fir free lunch for children at schools, could be the fuel for effective public health programs, and so on.Before that war, the US spent a lot of mony to bribe UA politicians. You don't believe? Again I ask you: ever heard of Victoria Nuland? She is (an importent) one of those, that created the situation that made Russian gov to go on war.I could also mention Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton. There is not that much of difference between Trump, Biden, Putin, ..., compared with the difference between them and enrolled common members of their parties.

@wauz Green social programs mean nothing when Russia invades. The pure hubris of assuming that the largest army in Europe wouldn't be used against neighbors by the ruling dictator. But it's easy to ignore vulnerable people when you're in NATO.If you really believe one diplomat--or even the US government--is more responsible for murdering Ukrainian people than the invading Russians, then our value systems are too incompatible to continue this conversation. It is insulting to their memories.

@segv11Get it: this war is carefully arranged by CIA and other intelligence and, of course, a lot of supporting US forces officers and "military advisors".There is no tomorrow without a today and a yesterday. It's what happened before the war that made this war happen. You can't stop a fire by pouring fuel.
