I tried #Debian 12 this weekend on an old PC that has been giving problems with #Fedora. Wow!! Debian really has become something special. It installed easily and no issues. It recognized my ancient #NVIDIA card and used the best drivers available. #GNOME is looking and working amazingly. There are a few quirks that threw me off. But those were primarily because I needed to do things the Debian way. Like having to skip creation of root account to make my user the admin account at install time. I was so concerned with packages and apps versions being too old. But there's #Flatpak and #Containers like #podman to deal with that. I came out with a very different perspective of #Debian. I had a lot of respect for the Debian project but I always opted for #Ubuntu or #Fedora. But it's weird to say this but those distros have become too opinionated. In a good way because they serve a unique audience and use. Which I include myself to be part of.But wow this latest Debian release has changed my perspective. I am glad I gave it a chace this weekend.

@tacosandlinux I ran Debian for a while before switching to Fedora about 10 years ago to get newer packages quicker without having to compile them myself. After the latest round of Red Hat pissing off the community, I switched back to Debian and am happily using sid in the places where I want newer packages. And including the option to install non-free firmware is awesome, as that was the last pain point with Debian on laptops and their Wi-Fi hardware.
