@potato_lisper I'm struggling with this as well! Currently taking a break from going all digital. I found that I retain information better when I go paper -> digital. So I'm playing with systems to make going paper -> digital smoother.

@potato_lisper for now I've found that whatever data I write on paper shouldn't follow the same conventions that I use to organize it digitally. I freestyle my paper notes. But I add as much context as I can to my paper notes. When I transfer my notes to a digital format I neatly structure them. The beauty of doing a freestyle note taking system on paper is that I can always restructure them in a digital format. BuJo is great, love it, used it for years. But it's a analog system not digital.

I was feeling pretty confident with my #emacs workflow and then I go read a #post from @awws. Who just left in awe of their methodology and craftsmanship of their emacs workflow. Check out this post and see what I'm talking about.https://daryl.wakatara.com/emacs-gtd-flow-evolved/#orgmode#science#zotero

@hochata No experience with emacs mailclients in Windows. But this is something I'm extremely curious about.

I tried #Debian 12 this weekend on an old PC that has been giving problems with #Fedora. Wow!! Debian really has become something special. It installed easily and no issues. It recognized my ancient #NVIDIA card and used the best drivers available. #GNOME is looking and working amazingly. There are a few quirks that threw me off. But those were primarily because I needed to do things the Debian way. Like having to skip creation of root account to make my user the admin account at install time. I was so concerned with packages and apps versions being too old. But there's #Flatpak and #Containers like #podman to deal with that. I came out with a very different perspective of #Debian. I had a lot of respect for the Debian project but I always opted for #Ubuntu or #Fedora. But it's weird to say this but those distros have become too opinionated. In a good way because they serve a unique audience and use. Which I include myself to be part of.But wow this latest Debian release has changed my perspective. I am glad I gave it a chace this weekend.

@mms I was looking at this keeb or the Dilemma. I think Bastard Keyboards is doing a good job building a fully open source keyboard. I also cringe at the price but so far I have heard nothing but praise for these keyboards.I might sell my left kidney to get one lol :ablobcatattention: :blobcatknife:

@mms so one of the main reasons I want one of these keyboards is for the ability to have more options for vertical scrolling. Pg-UP and Pg-Dwn don't really cut it for me. I have basic mouse keys on my Atreus Keyboardio and I'm pretty happy with that. But if I could get QMK and the trackball do to vertical scrolling that would put me over the edge.

I just want to give a shoutout to all the FOSS devs out there. Especially package maintaners who package FOSS for non-libre systems :neofox_floof_angel: Truly amazing work these devs do. They make it easier for folks like me who are tied down to non-libre systems at work to at least use FOSS on a daily basis. I encourage those who can to send a monetary donation to your favorite projects. Even it's a one time donation, it will be more than enough.Again thanks to all the FOSS devs :neofox_heart:

Well obviously #Emacs is the clear choice here. Imagine Emacs becoming the default cli editor for #Windows. One update push and suddenly billions of machines will have the power of #Emacs! Problably never going to happen but one can dream. One can dream.https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/discussions/16440

I've been seeing #emacs users talking about the recent issues with EasyPG and GnuPG. I just wanted to give attention to an alternative that I've been happy with. @anticomputer wrote age.el which works with the Age encryption tool. It's worked great for my needs. It may be useful as another tool for some of you.https://github.com/anticomputer/age.el
