       You know, part of me was actually sad when I saw the brand and logo for #Twitter become 𝕏. I started my Twitter account in May 2009 and for most of those years (other than like a year of tumblr) up until last May, it was my number one social media site. I loved it at first joining and then loved and hated it in nearly equal parts for many years. I made friends, enemies, and weirdos trying to use me for "access" that I didn't have. It's been a wild 14 years, and yes, I do miss what it used to be.

       @tehjessica unfortunately twitter was already dead for a while now, way before the buyout, people just got more vocal now because they got an enemy to complain on the other networkslook instagram, its horrendous for so long but people are used to the lizard invader mark

       Mastodon is really most of the aspects that I loved about #Twitter and what it used to be back in it's early days. So I do feel at home here, and this site has become my number one social media site. Ultimately, I'm not sure which micro blogging site will replace 𝕏, but I'm nearly certain it will be replaced now. I think the best solution would be for all these start-ups to join ActivityPub and have that be the norm for all micro blogging websites.

       We would have to worry about things like which service or sever should I join? Just join any of them and you can still follow your friends anywhere. ActivityPub is an awesome concept and I really hope more microblogging sites will fully embrace and implement it. Then we wouldn't have to lose our connections or maintain eleventy billion social media accounts, unless we want to!

       @moon oh yeah, Twitter was a cesspit, that's why I mentioned hating it for many years. I received a lot of hate and bullying, but I still had a lot of fun and positive experiences, so I will miss it now that it's gone.

       @tehjessica I miss the first years when it launched and the people from my country was just a small niche and everything was fun and games and everybody was as famous as each otherits was like the fediverse except all the defederation drama
