You know, part of me was actually sad when I saw the brand and logo for #Twitter become 𝕏. I started my Twitter account in May 2009 and for most of those years (other than like a year of tumblr) up until last May, it was my number one social media site. I loved it at first joining and then loved and hated it in nearly equal parts for many years. I made friends, enemies, and weirdos trying to use me for "access" that I didn't have. It's been a wild 14 years, and yes, I do miss what it used to be.

Mastodon is really most of the aspects that I loved about #Twitter and what it used to be back in it's early days. So I do feel at home here, and this site has become my number one social media site. Ultimately, I'm not sure which micro blogging site will replace 𝕏, but I'm nearly certain it will be replaced now. I think the best solution would be for all these start-ups to join ActivityPub and have that be the norm for all micro blogging websites.

We would have to worry about things like which service or sever should I join? Just join any of them and you can still follow your friends anywhere. ActivityPub is an awesome concept and I really hope more microblogging sites will fully embrace and implement it. Then we wouldn't have to lose our connections or maintain eleventy billion social media accounts, unless we want to!

ERCOT is saying they may do rolling power outages this evening. The Texas power grid is absolute garbage. It's not even close to the hottest day or even series of days we've had lately.

In good news, I was able to find an appointment time at Walgreen's for me and my husband to get our COVID vaccines this Saturday!! I figured I'd keep checking to see if they added appointments, and they did this morning! I'm still keeping the next Saturday one just in case they cancel it on us, but I really preferred this weekend so we'd have better immunity for our anniversary trip in early October.

This fawn is in my backyard, maybe about 10 feet or so from my back patio. I've never seen one dropped off this close to the house before. Such a tiny cutie!
