I always think it's weird to call core plugins "plugins" because they ship with @obsidian, and some of them are enabled by default. But they do add a lot to my experience of using Obsidian, to the point that I probably wouldn't be using Obsidian if it didn't have such awesome plugins. Here's a roundup of every single Obsidian core plugin, how I use it, and, in some cases, which community plugin I use instead. https://youtu.be/RJW3kXErkJk

@nicole @obsidian It’s great that it’s easy to swap out core plugins, with your own replacements. It shows that the devs are really user-first, instead of trying to push their own idea. That is probably one of there reasons Obsidian is so popular, it is possible to really make it your own.

@qwxlea @obsidian Really good point! Yeah, I think the Obsidian devs are very keen on interoperability and giving people the autonomy to use what they want to use.

@nicole @obsidian That always seemed strange to me, too, and it’s a little confusing for new users. I think it’s because they use the same mechanism in the code for both kinds of plugins, and because you can disable them, which you can’t do with most app features.

@nicole @obsidian More like settings. But still all good. I guess they keep a connection to the plug-in community, as they works very similarly.
