@lowqualityfacts I'm trying to put together a "stoned and high" joke here, but it's a little early in the day.

@lowqualityfactsThis is a lie; they used hydrogen.

@lowqualityfacts Shame they were tombs then really - I bet it wouldn't have done much for a Pharaoh's authority to speak in a helium voice.

@lowqualityfacts That's why they look so run-down and beat up now. The helium got into all the rock pores, and made it fracture. The engineering tradeoffs of using helium are real!

@lowqualityfactsNo, that’s nonsense. The Egyptians used hydrogen, which was easily extracted from the water, to float those stones into place. It is known. What led them to give up on this technology was a Hindenburg-like incident in which an entire pyramid was blown to smithereens when some idiot smoked nearby.

@lowqualityfacts Do not use this construction method in your pharaonic tomb.Stones may deflate as the helium leaks out:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bent_Pyramid#/media/File:Bent_Pyramid_曲折金字塔_-_panoramio.jpg or blow away in strong desert winds:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyramid_of_Djoser#/media/File:Saqqara_pyramid_ver_2.jpgIn fact, the ancient Egyptians themselves abandoned this technique when they learned it causes mummies to growl and moan in high, squeaky voices which are ineffective at frightening tomb robbers.
