       Looking a bit further into the history there is at least 5 distros in the generally accepted sense and 2 other things that don't call themselves distros before Slackware

       @BrodieOnLinux I remember looking into this before. IIRC Slackware actually began as a fork of another popular district shortly after it had made an unpopular change, which is something that informed it's core philosophies of making the bare minimum of changes to it's packaged binaries, and of course "Keep It Simple, Stupid."
