@gabe_sky @jerry I like bc and dc for fixed-point ("integer") calculations, e.g. financial: set scale = 2 (or k2 for dc) and no more 1.6666667e-6's and suchanother advantage is the option to set base for the numbers (ibase, obase), handy for programming/debugging, and strictly better than GUI calculators

@jerry My favorite ping utility is noping which provides a colored graph and handles multiple simultaneous targets, and mtr (my traceroute) which provides a continuously updating traceroute with ping times to each hop which helps you narrow down where latency is happening and I think does rdns lookups to give readable hostnames for each hop and probably other features that I don't pay attention to.
