Wow there is a ton of fascinating stuff tucked deep in the Settings -> Safari -> Advanced -> Experimental Features menuNotifications is "off" by default - I've tried turning it on but I'm having trouble finding an example site that can send web push notifications and doesn't user-agent detect iOS Safari and disable the feature

@lina I can't get that to work for some reason - oh wait, no I didn't add to home screen (I was hoping that setting would avoid the need to do that)

@lina That https://tests.peter.sh/push-message-generator/ demo seems to work whether or not I've enabled the "Notifications" toggle, provided I add the page to my Home Screen first

@simon in case you havent seen it yet, here’s the case where its supported. Hypothetically, you have to add it to your home screen. Its also very recent so, it’s unlikely that many have bothered to remove the ios checks.

@brendan that seems to work if you add to the Home Screen whether or not you have the toggle enabled in the advanced settings panel though

@simon And this is why capability detection is superior to user agent detection!
