You are new to CP/M and don't know where to find documentation and software? Then this toot may be of value for you, 'coz here's three important links on the topic. Please boost so CP/M newbies will notice this important information.Humongous CP/M Archives (tons of software etc. - go here first!):http://cpmarchives.classiccmp.org/Commercial CP/M Software Archive (go there next):http://www.retroarchive.org/cpm/Gaby Z80 / CP/M Pages (comprehensive Information, documentation, source codes and binaries):http://www.gaby.de/ecpm.htm#Intel8080#Z80 #RC2014 #Z80MBC2 #Commodore128 #Kaypro #Osborne1 #AlphatronicPC#AmstradCPC#AmstradPCW#CPM #Software #Links #Downloads #Abandonware p.s.: .oO(I still wonder why people seem to be unable to find these links themselves, simply by using a search engine)

@Wintermute_BBS @cstross I had a Z80 card in my Apple ][ clone, using WordStar 1.0 under CP/M with two 128 KB ram drives and two real 5 1/4 diskette drives - earned a bit of money translating handbooks for the IBM /36 and software from English to German. And it all worked, one RAM disk held the text and I backed it up to the two drives regularly.

@Tho99 @Wintermute_BBS @cstross Cool 😎Back in the day I had an Apple ][e salvaged from work, when they switched over to the PC platform and #MSDOS. That had a #Z80 card installed, (made by Microsoft I seem to recall). I also used #CPM and #Wordstar on it. Wish I still had that system 🤓

@cthulhu @Tho99 @cstross from what I learned, this was one the more common types of CP/M hardware used in north-america. the TRS80 and CP/M being another popluar one. Or so I have been told.

@Wintermute_BBS I retired from CP/M in 1985 or so...Funny enough; CP/M was primarily meant for 8080, but Z80 dominated the market, so all but the biggest software titles used the Z80 instruction set. Then it still had to be compiled/assembled for each computer type, since console output was so slow (and non-standard control characters) that everyone addressed the video hardware directly. It was a painful time...
