pondering if i should include a morrowind style dialogue tech demo.i kinda vaguely remember how that worked. something about you learn keywords which appear on the side of the screen. i forgar if the keywords persist between NPCs though.i think there are some that do?

@icedquinn in morrowind all the keywords persisted globally, but that didn't mean you could talk to everyone about everything

@icedquinn It depends...There are two sections in the window dealing with NPC comms. The dialogue would be a wall of text with a selection being highlighted as a topic to approach. These topics are usually relevant to the subject or the quest at hand.To the left of the dialogue section you would have a list of topics, these are either global or what is permitted.I am doing this from memory and I am doing this wrong... 🤔

@icedquinn This is from a very heavy modded playthrough in OpenMW with some QoL settings enabled. Some NPCs only offer some options, relevant to the player, quest, and or disposition.Others are walking encyclopedias.

@ligthert yeah i just never looked in to how the keyword system worked.i know when they say something that contains a link, it adds that subject to the sidebar. i'm a bit fuzzy on if there is a global and local unlock for these. obviously if the keyword is like "man" then it would be a bit off to have multiple people respond to it. you'd end up with NPCs responding about vague keywords that could be sequence breaking.
