       This is amazingly fucked up. Broadcasters are trying to pass a new standard for broadcasting that allows them to encrypt their broadcasts.This means that people who use antennas to watch television will have to pay to upgrade their equipment and then pay on top of that to actually watch.The airwaves are a limited resource that broadcasters get free access to.        @tedivm good to know but not surprised... did know if existed and anyway I think TV is bad for people which wouldn't have good excuse unless you add there is Internet almost everyone has enjoyed as new TV...LOTS of tricks in tech or indeed business itself are there power/control iterations copyinG much of man-made life... giveth then taketh away or pay more.Lots of examples... latest is friend asked to take next plane from over-crowding because they didn't pay an extra fee to 'reserve' a seat O_0
