As we all get frustrated with the fact new TV/movies are coming to a halt, just remember that this is and will continue to be the fault of the producers and studios, the capitalists who would rather shut down the arts than treat actors and writers just a little bit better.Push back on any narrative that implies your media comes back "when the writers and actors settle"; and instead make the statement that media will come back when hollywood execs stop being stubborn babies.

do not root for breaking the strike by litigation or force, insist the solution is to give the writers and actors what they deserve. If lawmakers get involved it should be to force the execs to give in.

there are probably going to be MSM pieces about how "oh boy, we want them to get paid, but if pols break the strike at least we can get our movies and tv back" always call this out as a false choice. it's done to pit us against the workers when our ire should be focused on the execs who can end this with a quick stroke of a pen.

on a more personal note, my advice for dealing with the void of content is: there's so much you haven't seen. get to talking with your friends about old content that they nerd out about, or go exploring on your own. ideally pay for a VPN and build a fileshare library on an external hard drive so you don't get price gouged.
