Personally not a fan of the @username@instance.tld format that the fediverse uses... especially the @ at the beginning, which is entirely redundant.Much prefer the simple instance.tld/@username format.

@ummjackson It's not redundant because otherwise it would be impossible to tell the difference between a handle and an e-mail address. There's already a convention of writing social media handles with a @ in front.

@Gargron I’ve thought a bit on this… I think it’s that lack of consistency in how it’s used across the app that has made me dislike the @ up front. See 3 examples below of user handles being displayed in different ways. Your reply from same instance, a reply from external instance, and the reply authoring screen (where the @ is omitted) I think the key to adoption of this format is presenting it consistently as @username@instance.tld everywhere.
