2014: Under a cloud of volcanic gases, with the eruption behind us, looking out to sea at Lón in SE #Iceland. The vog has passed across #Vatnajökull on its way from the Holuhraun eruption of Bárðarbunga and has cooled, and the gases - CO₂, SO₂ and H₂S - have separated. The lighter sulphurous gases can be seen above while the heavier ones have formed a layer over the water. Note the sunlight reflection on the sea, it's orange due to light filtering through the blue vog.Panorama, please click!
