Birds On An IcebergGulls resting in a group on the surface of a turquoise berg, on a misty morning in August.Jökulsárlón in south-eastern #Iceland, and ice calving from Breiðamerkurjökull glacier is floating on the still waters of the lagoon.This moraine lake is a product of climate change; it started forming around 1935 and grew as the glacier retreated. Water DropsFor #WaterfallWednesday, this is Dettifoss in north-eastern #Iceland.This amazing 45m/147.5ft tall torrent is a vertical block falls, width 100m/328ft, with a peak summer discharge of ≈ 400 m³/s and an average water flow of 200 m³/s. 2014: Under a cloud of volcanic gases, with the eruption behind us, looking out to sea at Lón in SE #Iceland. The vog has passed across #Vatnajökull on its way from the Holuhraun eruption of Bárðarbunga and has cooled, and the gases - CO₂, SO₂ and H₂S - have separated. The lighter sulphurous gases can be seen above while the heavier ones have formed a layer over the water. Note the sunlight reflection on the sea, it's orange due to light filtering through the blue vog.Panorama, please click!

We had a lovely day out yesterday, driving around Loch Lomond in our shiny new EV. First stop, though, was the Falls of Falloch where this was taken, probably one of the top 10 pretty waterfalls in #Scotland.
