If the goal of Mastodon is a federated system based on the Activity Pub protocol, why not celebrate Threads? Isn’t it’s adoption of AP a huge win?

@TruthSandwichAs we clearly state in our policy, if there was ever photography of people under 18 in a sexually suggestive nature (doesnt even need to be nude) we would defederate… Not only do we state this clearly on our about page, we have stated it any time this has ever come up.This happened with PAwoo for example and they are currently defederated and we listed that as the reason.Where in the world do people get this stupidity from….@proximacentauri @marcelias

@proximacentauri Oh so now its about threads, not child porn... thats an impressively mobile goal post you have going there, do you have wheels on it?Threads doesnt even exist on the fediverse yet, I have no idea if it ever will. So now your gripe is that we wont defederate with a non-existant server... this is getting entertaining.For the record I have posts where I stated i had some concerns with Threads and implied heavily that some of those could result in defederation. One obvious one is if they advertise/spam ads from their servers.@TruthSandwich

@freemo The original post was that @TruthSandwich suggested to parent that EEE is enough to defederate from Threads. My point is that he is on a server which whole principle is to federate with all servers. I grant I haven't read that pedo part is not on it.

@proximacentauri And I am pointing out you are uninformed and talking out of your ass... While it is true we minimally-defederate it is not true to say we federate with all servers. We list explicitly reasons we defederate, have a few servers we are currently defederated from, and there are a handful of reasons I have already stated on my feed as to why I may defederate from threads when the time comes. It ultimately depends on how Threads behaves and if they enter the fediverse at all.So if your going to talk, at least bother to say things you actually have an iota of knowledge on.@TruthSandwich
