There were a few Jews in the area back then, but they were a tiny minority and they (or, rather, their descendants) have been assimilated into Israel. It’s the non-Jews who remain categorized as Palestinians, who live in the two areas under occupation or blockade by Israel.The original plan was for two states, but that didn’t happen. Instead, there was massive violence, including massacres and wars. At this point, there is no appetite for forming a single state with both groups. The sane want a two-state solution. The insane want a genocidal single state.
