       @GnomedDev @iwein Yes, The quote toots is prickly issue.I miss it but understand why the decision was made and that it may change/or not.Doing it this way means you have to make an effort and it cant really automated for harassment purposes.

       @raymierussell @GnomedDev @iwein other fedi software gives people more tools. and more options by defaulti can add more options for polls, use more characters and use quotes. the difference is most software tries to appeal to its users. mastodon tries to appeal to twitter users and keep the users as controllable/manageable as possible. and also streamline the experience to a very simple thing. mastodon has no reactions, never had chats, only allowes certain file types for uploads, has an upload limit on 4 pics, cant combine pics and polls, no fun features like games or rooms like misskey has/hadif someone wants to abuse a feature like quotes they can because the fediverse allows everyone to do so.

       @grillchen @GnomedDev @raymierussell I'm so happy that I can migrate away from mastodon without losing my graph, in theory. They are still on the good side of the red line in that regard, yes? 'Belittling' is perhaps a bit strong, maybe they're simply opinionated?

       @iwein @GnomedDev @raymierussell mhh surebut i think people need to keep in mind a handful of people decide how millions communicate. being critical is important. im especially critical of mastodon tbh because the whole marketing charade. the tried to change the fediverse into the mastodon network.
