       I don’t think Republican primary voters are interested in Kemp or Youngkin. Certainly not Kemp, who they think betrayed MAGA.Dumping Trump won’t suddenly bring the GOP back to normal. This is the party of  banning books, banning women’s rights, rolling back civil rights, and tampering with the election process…to name a few.I appreciate wanting to avoid Trump, but no upgrade is available to the GOP.        @TonyStark the entire party ran on resentment since at least Reagan times. They were trying to be somewhat subltle about it (“compassionate conservative “) #TFG  was called “the unleashed id of the GOP”. They love him for making them unashamed of being big red balls of hatred. There’s no going back from that.

       @TonyStark The powers-that-be in the GOP only want to avoid him because he is a loser (electorally but take the meaning as you will) but once you go Full Monty very rarely will people settle for a knock-off . And if you do try to be the Trump-lite if the real deal is there people will gravitate.

       @edgeoforever @TonyStark Agreed on all counts. I remember being in my early twenties and noticing the anger and resentment during the Clinton and Gingrich years. It was appalling to me even then.
