Leaving aside the whole ethical and privacy angle for a second (I know, I know), can someone explain how #Threads integrates with the #fediverse? Can I follow someone with a Threads account using my Mastodon account? (Assuming my instance hasn't blocked it...) In which case, what would be the point of a person on Mastodon migrating to Threads, or creating another account there? #nostupidquestions

@ottocrat it will work like any other instance, so yes, you can follow people there and they can follow you. It should be seamless. There is no point creating a Threads account if you already have a Mastodon one (unless you want their algorithms).

With thanks to those in my replies who posted the link, this blog post by @Gargron is an excellent explainer and answers my questions. #Threads #Mastodon #fediverseedit - god bless you Mastodon for the edit button 😂 https://blog.joinmastodon.org/2023/07/what-to-know-about-threads/
