       Anyone who thinks Mastodon is too difficult for non-technical people has never looked at Facebook recently.I'm a goddamn meganerd who's been writing about complicated tech stuff for two decades and even I have no fucking clue how to use Facebook. It's complicated, overloaded, and obtuse as fuck. And yet, millions of non-techies live in that hellapp.Mastodon is child's play compared to Facebook.

       @thomholwerda I have an account that I use basically once a year and FWIW it has indeed devolved into a tyre fire of UX in the last five-ish years. It doesn't stop burning down, it keeps slowly getting worse as time goes by. And this is coming from someone who has worked in IT since 2007, and has been poking at the Internet since ~1997 🙄
