@electronwarier @Krez My ancestors volunteered themselves into slavery rather than stay in Europe. After some period of time, they were supposed to be freed.It seems that was in the late 1600s or 1700s, when whites were commonly enslaved in various forms+fashion in the new world.

@nom @Krez You are speaking of a Bond Slave. The first "slaves", bond slaves were white, primarly British and Irish. I know nothing about bond slave from the continent.

@electronwarier Christians under Ottoman Turk State slavery - state appointed Muslim slave manager could do anything to them up to extreme torture and execution because Koran states that if you don't submit to the Islam you have no rights of any kind. There was also "tax in blood" with young Christian children being periodically harvested for Ottoman State needs.

@electronwarier @Krez There really wasn't a lot of difference and we don't know which would be "better," if any, since this generation is completely ignorant (I would say intentionally stupid, actually) about all aspects of slavery.Nobody wants to know or think about it objectively, so discussion is essentially moribund... until the practice returns... which it will. That is all.
