So, now, of course, I have to look at RabbitMQ vs PubSub vs Apache Kafka.That one is rather: it's probably going to be Apache Kafka. On the other hand, the RBAC is going to be horrendous.

@ParadeGrotesque Ugh, I try to avoid Kafka for initial queue impl because people develop really bad habits with it, as with mongo or mysql. I’ve found it so much easier to switch away from RabbitMQ and PostgreSQL forcing a little correctness than the other way.Unless you’ve really got fat throughput needs, streaming semantics and don’t believe what they say about autoscaling cluster size.

@ParadeGrotesque Oh, looks like they’ve reimplemented the thing that hit me badly: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-2019Still, changing your number of consumers by much is generally ill advised. And you’ve got to plan topic partitions in advance. It’s awesome for a known throughput fat stream.

OK, the hurt levels are slowly creeping up. Haven't been able to eat anything for most of the day, so I'll have to risk to take a nibble or two.Having all of my upper jaw without any feelings for half a day is quite an experience.
