@BlindGordon May I ask what keyboard you use? I've reinvented the old Microwriter as the "Quirkey." I'm posting code, 3D print files, technical package, docs, and typing tutor (visual only, sorry, but welcome examples or suggestions) as Open Source to try and get the things out there. Costs about $20 to make from commodity parts and needs no special drivers.

@vik I’m sorry, but that was all a bit too technical for me. I’m using a Logitech K380 bluetooth keyboard if that helps.

@BlindGordonThe K380 I know - fits nicely in the backpack. The stuff I was wibbling about is a 6-key device. Your fingers never move off the keys. So everything is where you left it, and you don't need to look or feel around. The sixth key sits by your thumb, allowing you to do all the non-alphabetic stuff like editing, numbers, function keys etc. Way handier than a QWERTY or Braille keyboard. I make them at The Lab, free for special needs kids. Also use them all the time myself.

@vik That sounds intriguing but I’ve been using a QWERTTY keyboard for so long, and I’m too old to start learning new things like that. Good luck with the project, though.
