Full disclaimer: I posted incorrect numbers on the energy of inert/"dummy" KE missiles. Following recent events, more data is available. The number of projectiles is 36 (6 clusters of 6, not 6 individual projectiles), the weight of each is likely ~100kg. Impact of each "inert" projectile at Mach 10 (recent data suggests 11.4) is thus roughly equiv to a US M62 600lb bomb.

Habitat Update: Away crew prepared for immediate departure to #EverythingOpen confluence on nearby island. Personal Effects limit 30kg. Fusion systems, Aft Power Cells, and Transport Module nominal. SecUnit armed, Skeleton Crew in place. Despite presence of many dangerous life forms at destination, Armoury is not to issue as much as a peashooter.

Ah, the travel chaos begins. No parking space at the airport, so we have to get someone to drive us in. They won't drive the big EV so we have to go in the Leaf. That needs charging en route, so we have to leave early and set driver up with a charging account...

@felipe Ohyah. Goes with the Pseudo-MAPP gas.(Nobody sells real MAPP to the public since 2008 as it has this wee tendency to go slightly unstable)

Impatient me can't wait for the #3Dprinter to cool down so I can loosen the parts from the print bed. "I know, I'll blast it with high pressure air to cool it down quickly."[Cloud of 3D printer filament debris spreads out across the room]"... and as a bonus I clean the printer."Meanwhile, the blast of cold air is doing its job, and the print bed cools rapidly, releasing the parts.Which are blasted into dark corners by the high pressure air.Idiot.

@ttscoff The problem here is that American military training tactics (copied all over the world, even by the New Zealand police) stress acting before thinking. Otherwise your soldiers think before returning fire and get shot, balk at following orders etc.Unfortunately this means you're a dangerous lunatic if you expect them to do anything other than kill people when deploying them against civilians.

Teaching Young Grasshopper again. We got Ventoy on a USB stick and persuaded an ancient UEFI laptop to boot a Xubuntu ISO. During downloads etc. learned about hydrocarbon chains, molar volume, and er, butane combustion and rocketry. Performance increase under Xubuntu impressed. Used lsusb to check a Pi Zero, moved on to dmesg, and finally the jaw dropped when we nmap'd his home wifi. Hacker in the making there.
